AIPPI is interested in the development of intellectual property laws which encourage trade and support the development of the economy. It is unique in providing a forum where are interested parties - solicitors, barristers, patent attorneys, trade mark attorneys, academics, industrialists and government - are all able to air their views, in order to find the common ground that can be tested and built upon.

2006 AIPPI Prize winner

The Committee of AIPPI is pleased to announce the winner of this year's AIPPI Prize, Chris Carter of Davies Collison Cave.

Chris' entry is available for download - Business Method Patents In Australia After Grant v Commissioner of Patents: 'Physical Effect' - New Law or Clarified Law?

Chris' prize is a return trip to the AIPPI Congress in Gothenberg in October.

Australian group submits reports for Gothenburg Congress

The Australian group has submitted its reports to the international bureau of AIPPI on the questions to be dealt with at the Gothenburg Congress in October 2006.

The reports are available in pdf format:

Q189 - Amendment of patent claims after grant

Q190 - Contracts regarding IP rights and third parties

Q191 - Relationship between trademarks and geographical indications

Q192 - Acquiescence to infringement of IP rights
